Job Description:

CELLAR HAND JOB DESCRIPTION
We are a locally owned and operated winery seeking motivated and passionate individuals responsible for the day-to-day management of all cellar operations. Specifically, you will operate heavy equipment, process work orders, and perform various tasks for the winery. During harvest (typically late August through October), your hours will increase to include overtime in your daily functions. You may be asked to help in the direction of temporary cellar operators, and interact with others to ensure everything is correctly processed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Operate cellar equipment including but not limited to pumps, presses, crusher/de-stemmer, plate and frame filters, and cross-flow filtration
•  Collaborate with the winemaking team in planning and scheduling all cellar activities
•  Moving, racking, and blending wine
•  Account for wine bottling inventories: monthly counts and bottling inputs
•  Initiate and execute work order fulfillment
•  Responsible for complying with the company's hazardous material and safety procedures
•  Ingredient additions
•  Sanitation and cleanliness of the winery

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
•  Must be at least 21 years old (working with alcohol)
•  Previous wine cellar or beverage experience
•  Operation of de-stemmer/crusher, rotary fermenters, presses, and forklift
•  Perform chemical additions
•  Complete work orders
•  Interact with other departments to ensure correct processing
•  Perform weekly safety checks
•  Ability to accurately calculate figures
•  Possess a solid knowledge of wine, grape growing, and winemaking processes with a willingness to learn
•  Familiarity with the use of all types of winemaking equipment
•  Basic (English) verbal and written communication skills
•  Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
•  Work outdoors/indoors
•  Work in warm and cold climates
•  Work in high places
•  Work on wet surfaces
