Lava Cap Winery, located outside of Placerville in Northern California, is seeking a full-time seasonal cellar worker to join our team for the 2022 harvest. From Chardonnay through Petite Sirah, Lava Cap crafts a range mountain driven wines from our 100 acre Estate at 2,700ft. Our location, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, halfway between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe, allows us to craft distinct alpine inspired wines. The successful application will work with a small and dedicated team, and receive hands on experience with all aspects of the winemaking process.
Applicant must be able to demonstrate high attention to detail, awareness of job safety, the ability to complete tasks according to instruction, a strong work ethic and a willingness to be a key member of our small team. Performs various work assignments to include: racking, pumping, clarifying and blending of juice and wine. Operates and cares for tanks, barrels, pumps, presses, hoses and other cellar equipment. Assists in all phases of winemaking processes as well as care, maintenance, and sanitation of all equipment and facilities.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the production of premium wine from a dedicated and passionate staff. Attendance/Schedule: Up to 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. Must have flexibility with scheduling, willing to work various days. Will require overtime and weekend work during harvest as needed.
