FermForge is on the cusp of becoming the leader of the Texas wine industry. First and foremost, we are a custom crush facility with over 150,000 gals of stainless-steel tanks and more than 300 acres of planted vineyards. We are looking for a passionate individual to help coordinate cellar activities from crush to bottle in this, our inaugural vintage - 2022. We are building the team for the long term, and this is a strategic position – akin to the bass guitarist in the band, keeping pace with the tempo. Harvest is coming.

-Customer service & client satisfaction is Job ONE!
-Assist with preparations for harvest - cleaning equipment and receiving supplies
-Help with all aspects of the crush pad and cellar– cleaning equipment, receiving fruit, prepping tanks, pump-overs, monitoring fermentations, additions, draining, and pressing.
-Yeast inoculation and nutrient additions as needed, daily brix and temperature recording
-Assists in managing winery operations during harvest.
-Organized and computer literate in MS Office; winemaking data systems is a bonus
-Complete and enter work orders in the winery database system.
-Self-starter with a strong work ethic who can work independently and as part of a team
-Perform regular wine quality checks with the winemaker, including correctly monitoring temperature controls, maintaining wine temperature, and monitoring dissolved oxygen.
-Regular inventory monitoring for issues dealing with low supply levels or shortages
-If in doubt, there is probably something to clean
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-Passion for winemaking; analytically minded
-Possess good sensory analysis and quantitative skills
-Must be able to communicate in English (spoken and written); Spanish or German is a bonus
-Excellent oral and written communication skills; algebra and math skills are required
-Work standing for long periods with extended hours during harvest is common
-Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
-Ability to work in hot and cold environments, occasionally sticky, wet, or exhausted.
-Must be able to bend, kneel and reach; balance/climb on ladders.
-Cleaning and more cleaning
-Minimum 2 vintages of experience in practical and technical aspects of winemaking
-Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds; work overtime and weekends during harvest
-Work safely and comply with OSHA procedures and company policies
-Understanding ISO 9001-2000 is a plus
-Must be at least 21years old
Full-time availability is required starting in early July 2022. This position can become a full-time position for the right applicant.
Hourly pay - $23+(DOE). Work history, experience, and education are all factors.
