We are seeking a enthusiastic and passionate associate winemaker based in Napa Valley to join our winemaking team!
From our main office in Novato, CA we support wine production for our portfolio of US based wines. This position reports to our North Coast Winemaker.
Associate Winemaker - North Coast
Under the direction of the North Coast Winemaker, the associate winemaker in this position will assist in all phases of winemaking processes of our CA North Coast National and Exclusive Brand programs.

-Assists with the production of highest quality wine in keeping with winery’s mission statement and values.
-Offers recommendations with regard to new methods, equipment, and procedures to improve operating efficiencies and wine quality.
-Monitors fermentations by taste and analysis; provides monitoring spreadsheets.
-Issues and records work orders on daily operations related to wine production at partner winemaking facilities.
-Monitors and acts to ensure the health and quality of wines in storage.
-Records and reports on bulk wine inventory.
-Assists with fermentation, blending, and fining decisions.
-Assists winemaker as needed; maintains familiarity with all aspects of winemaking operations to substitute for winemaker as required.
-Oversees and documents results of experiments; maintains current and complete winemaking protocols.
-Oversees quality of wine at bottling and production of wine to ensure the highest standards are met.
-Assists in any and all areas of production during busy harvest season.
-Organizes educational wine tastings for production and sales staff.
-Assists with PR/marketing activities as needed.
-Represents winery at wine-related functions as needed.
-Bachelor’s degree in Fermentation Science, Enology, Viticulture, Food Science, Biological Engineering, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Microbiology or equivalent
-Two to four years related experience.

-Acute attention to detail

-Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Teams and One-Drive; familiarity with Navision / Vintegrate preferred.
-Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
-Understanding of vineyard management practices and their effect on wine.
-Strong interpersonal skills.
-Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
-Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
-Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
-Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
-Experience in research and development, including understanding of statistical analysis.
-Ability and willingness to represent winery in the professional community.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
A percentage of work time may be spent in a wine warehouse or cellar where temperatures are cool and noise level is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

-Lift up to 35-50 pounds
