Burgess Cellars, a historic Napa Valley estate and pioneer of regenerative farming, nestled on the slopes of Howell Mountain, is in search of Tasting Room Educators. The Wine Curator/Educator will host guests at our winery, educating on the history of Burgess Cellars, The Napa Valley, our wines and our approach to regenerative farming practices. The Educator must command an advanced understanding of all of the wines we offer, while representing Burgess as an ambassador of the brand.
Host guests at the winery, including tastings, tours, and special events.
Executing wine service at a professional level reflective of a luxury experience.
Maintain a knowledge base of the Burgess Cellars portfolio and farming practices.
Command an advanced knowledge of wine-tasting, winemaking, and sales tactics.
Uphold cleanliness and organization standards for tasting experience mis en place.
Manage order entry and payment capture for POS terminals.
Maintain inventory tracking for tasting room depletions.
2+ years working in sales and/or management in service focused organizations.
Luxury brand experience required.
Sense of urgency surrounding guest hospitality needs.
Proven track record of strong sales skills.
Demonstrated ability to research and resolve problems, including data mining and analysis.
Exceptional organizational skills, with a focus on keeping accurate data and guest records.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Activities required include standing, walking, regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
