Job Description:

Brasswood Bar + Bakery + Kitchen is looking for a Pastry Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual who performs well under pressure and pays the highest attention to detail. The Pastry Chef will work directly with the Executive Chef in ensuring an outstanding guest experience by providing unique, creative, and delicious desserts, pastries, and baked goods.

The Brasswood property features a state-of-the-art winery with 17,000 sq. feet of caves where we make our own elegant wines alongside some fantastic custom crush clients. The property is also home to multiple tasting rooms, including a sensory room, a Bottle shop with rare wines and liquors, and our world-class restaurant, Brasswood Bar+ Kitchen and our unique Brasswood Bar + Bakery.


Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure proper and efficient execution of Pastry Department to include overseeing strategic planning and production for Brasswood Bar + Bakery and Brasswood Bar + Kitchen

- Manage daily pastry operations

- Responsible for menu development and product knowledge

- Ensure quality service, product, and plating

- Manage special requests

- Work with the Director of Events to execute pastries for events and special occasions

- Control and manage food and labor costs associated to the department

- Maintains a clean and organized pastry work area

- Adheres to all safety and handbook procedures


Qualifications:

- Three+ years previous experience required in Bakery and/or Restaurant

- Strong knowledge of classic and modern pastry, chocolate work, and baking techniques

- Bread knowledge a plus

- Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day

- High level of professionalism and strong work ethic

- Self-sufficient, yet very comfortable working and communicating within a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment

- Excellent verbal communication and organization skills

- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis
