PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Marketing Specialist plays a key role in the translation of brand strategy to sales execution and requires a combination of marketing, communications, and project management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Support portfolio strategy objectives and develop brand programming in collaboration with senior brand manager to align with brand essence. Including but not limited to:
Development of product, brand, and company selling materials
Lead copywriting efforts across branded marketing materials, and DTC consumer-facing literature
Assists in business analysis of shipments, depletions, and consumer sales to scorecard marketing execution efforts
Assist with creating a yearly focus calendar for all brands, creating and communicating supporting marketing materials as needed.
Lead development, organize, and share out portfolio educational tools to be used by our sales managers and distributors.
Be a brand advocate, ensuring consistency and unity in brand voice throughout all marketing materials, and coaching salespeople to stay within brand guidelines.
POS/Collateral: act as lead on the development and production of in-store support tools.
Brand Management Support
Act as support on overall brand positioning in market based on available, industry category data (on-premise trade reports, Nielsen, category data & industry insights).
Act as brand guardian: train global sales team and distributors/importers on brand positioning and standards.
Provide support to sales team across diverse markets, channels and audiences.
Assists with monitoring release dates and production in partnership with Supply Team.
Public Relations & Trade Events
Lead day to day PR agency management and PR programming execution. – primary point of contact in house
Track key and manage media communications working directly with owner/proprietor.
Assist in strategic trade and consumer events, coordinating samples, submission forms, and travel calendars.
Lead internal competitive portfolio tastings; recommending competitive sets, organizing samples and collecting key data leading up to tasting.
Brand / Label Launch Support:
Assist in new product launches, coordinating with the supply, marketing and national sales team all relevant elements for timely and effective introductions.
Communicate launch plans effectively with all key parties: DTC, wholesale sales teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing and business administration, organizational management, communications, public relations or related fields of study.
1-2 years experience in marketing or brand coordination in CPG or wine business.
Wine knowledge: WSET or similar certification preferred, direct-to-consumer and/or wine marketing experience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to serve as brand ambassador at public and private events
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Nielsen Answers on Demand / IRI Liquid Data a plus.
