Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
•  Set and oversee GuildSomm’s business strategy.
•  Ensure organizational and brand alignment with established mission, vision, and values.
•  Foster an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.
•  Work with the Director of Operations and CFO to structure the organization and determine hiring priorities.
•  Attract, retain, and develop high-performing employees.
•  Serve as the primarily liaison with the Board of Directors for general advice and consent.
•  Collaborate with the CFO to develop budgets, financial strategies, and measures of performance.
•  Maintain an excellent understanding of GuildSomm’s financial and non-financial position.
•  Assist the Membership Director in working with external technical consultants, ensuring site quality and continued development.
•  Manage business relationships with key partners.
•  Support the Director of Partnerships in seeking sponsorship funding for existing and new programs.
•  Work with the Editor to develop a long-term strategy for content and to maintain the quality of existing content.
•  Guide podcast, video, and other multimedia content, contributing as needed.
•  Teach occasional classes and webinars.
•  Participate in community events and ensure corporate social responsibility goals of GuildSomm are met.

Qualifications:
•  Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, including management experience.
•  BA/BS degree in business management or related field, or equivalent experience, required.
•  Experience in the wine industry required.
•  Significant achievements in CMS, WSET, IMW, or similar organization preferred. Advanced level sommelier or WSET Diploma a plus.
•  Proven leadership skills as a senior executive leading an organization or major division of an organization.
•  Proven track record of building and cultivating successful teams.
•  Strong organizational and human relations skills.
•  Excellent financial management skills.
•  Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
•  Demonstrated personal and professional integrity.
•  Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Dropbox, and Salesforce required.
•  Experience navigating complex software systems.
•  Coding skills a plus.
•  Fluent in both written and spoken English. Competency in a second language a plus.
