Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY
The Safety and Fleet Management Director will provide expert support, guidance, and motivation to management and employees at all levels. The Director of Safety and Fleet Management is expected to be a hands-on partner in delivering various safety initiatives and programs specifically to develop a safety culture supporting the goal of reduction of accidents, incident and injuries as well as the planning, directing, managing, coordinating and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•  The Safety and Fleet Management Director will be responsible for the continuous development of safety policies and procedures, as well as the management of our fleet vehicles at Winebow.
•  Provide safety subject matter expertise, ensuring the most relevant and effective safety practices are used and implemented
•  Heads safety & health committees, work groups and functions
•  Reduce and eliminate safety hazards through site visits (audits and walkabouts)
•  Review and conduct mini-gap analyses on current safety policies, procedures and standards and provide recommendations for change to help drive continuous improvement
•  Investigate accidents and/or injuries; conduct post-accident/incident safety audit, surveys, and inspections to verify compliance levels and recommend changes consistent with business objectives
•  Ensure compliance of OSHA, and DOT regulations pertaining to company operations
•  Maintain annual OSHA log postings and requirements for all facilities
•  Partners with external insurance vendors to reduce claims
•  Administration and oversight of Workers Compensation cases
•  Coordinate the Drivers Physical Certification documents and scheduling, random testing and annual driving record review
•  Establish goals for proactive safety and environmental performance metrics and track, measure, trend, and interpret results
•  Analyze safety and quality statistics and develop recommendations
•  Establish a safety culture and recognition program across the organization
•  Partner with Operations to identify and standardize training programs

Fleet:
•  Owns relationship with leasing vendors, leases and leasing agreement and maintenance programs
•  Oversees DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet.
•  Determine truck specifications (tractors, trailers, box, vans, reefers, equipment, other)
•  Responsible for the set-up, maintenance, monitoring, and rebates for the Fuel programs.
•  Main point of contact for truck decaling. Collaborate with Creative Services team.
•  Responsible for fleet budgeting
•  Monitors expenses for profit and loss, participates in monthly financial review calls
•  Own the vendor relationship with the routing system RoadNet. Monitor upgrades, utilization of system, work with Distribution Centers to standardize and continuous improvement efficiencies.
•  Own the vendor relationship with the on board computers. Act as the subject matter expert.
•  Responsible for driver technology. Work with vendors, IT, and Distribution Centers

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment, warehouse environment. Occasional travel by auto, rail and/or airplane.
Occasional overnight stays.

EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED
Office equipment including telephone, fax machine, copier, computer, calculator, and printer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting, bending, reaching, manual dexterity, visual acuity, light traveling to other offices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•  Bachelor's degree preferred with academic majors- Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or
Safety Management
•  3-5 years Safety and/or Risk Management experience.
•  Fleet management experience preferred.
•  Strong interpersonal skills
•  Ability to work independently, take initiative, set and execute to work plans
•  Ability to balance multiple tasks.
•  Detail oriented with a tenacious focus on results.
•  Solid analytical, organizational, prioritization and project management skills.
•  Excellent written and oral communications skills at all levels in the organization.
•  Proficient in MS Windows, Office and related software programs.
•  HSE Certifications strongly preferred. IOSH Managing safely Certificate, OHSAS Certification, CPS Certificate, CSHM Certificate.
