The Job: We’re currently seeking an experienced Trade Marketing Manager to join our marketing team. This is a new position for us, and you’ll be joining a small but mighty marketing team who’s always looking to do things differently. This specialized role is tasked with bridging the needs and goals of the sales team at Union Wine Company with the marketing team. Our portfolio mix leans off-premise, but we are seeking a candidate that can help us chart a course across all channels of the wine industry. The position will report to the Director of Marketing.

About You:
You have a strong and proven background supporting high performing, fast moving sales teams in the wine industry through national distribution. You’re able to filter multiple strong ideas to identify the few that move the needle the most, and you’re able to build a strong case for gatekeepers as to why they simply can’t pass on those ideas. You’re a ‘blue ocean’ thinker and can see the opportunities that the wine industry might be missing out on, and you’re able to validate those ideas autonomously through data and market knowledge. As a key member of our marketing team, you’re expected to contribute to campaign, program and story ideas. You understand the value and power of our brand, and can translate the stories that we tell into trade specific programs that win.

Your objectives and responsibilities:
Advise brand strategy and positioning through demonstrated analytical skills, creative thinking, and effective tactical implementation based on data driven insights.
You have a strong understanding of our core consumer and know how to bring authentic experiences to them through the trade that exceed sales goals.
Build and maintain programs and tactics that create best-in-class engagement with our field sales audience.
Collaborate with sales to develop regional promotions strategies and tactics that deliver against company growth goals and align with brand focus periods, based on budget and need.
Under direction of the Marketing Director, create and maintain updated sales tools (decks, sell sheets, etc.) that clearly communicate the brand mission, reason to believe, and reason to buy.
Support sales in execution tactics that support and execute brand-initiated national programs.
Participate with marketing team in concept and brainstorming phase of brand programming to provide a sales POV.
Present National program plans to sales, communicate updates, and manage execution details with support of regional sales managers.
Recap programs with sales data, localized digital ad data and market photos from the sales team.
Lead and manage development of program presentations.
Partner with creative operations to deliver national and localized delivery of POS.
Secure and/or maintain partners to support regional programs that remain aligned with brand standards and budget availability.

Minimum Requirements:

5+ years in wine industry trade marketing
Chain Retail merchandising, programming and analytics
Integrated marketing experience – physical, digital and beyond
Expert skills with presentation software (ie: PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.)
Ability to work across functions, and with internal and external teams to develop compelling presentations
Ability to work autonomously
Some travel may be required
Prefer locally based in OR/WA, but not required
