Best Bottles is seeking an experienced Store Manager with a record of operational excellence and successful team management. We are looking for a self-motivated, high-energy candidate who will be responsible for overseeing the store’s day-to-day operations. You will be on the front line of customer service, providing a tailored experience for our guests, cultivating lasting relationships. The ability to multi-task and thrive in a demanding retail environment is essential, and you will be encouraged to further develop your expertise with daily opportunities to taste, teach and learn while you work.

Who you are:

•  Three years’ experience (minimum) as a lead wine and spirits buyer, sales team leader, assistant manager, or manager
•  Advanced level of wine education from WSET, CMS (or equivalent) strongly preferred
•  Proven track-record building retail sales
•  Highly effective communicator and team builder
•  Positive, friendly, and personable
•  Hard-working and self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
•  Organized, efficient and detail-oriented, with strong writing, social media and computer skills
•  Available to work on a flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends, and holidays

What you will do:

•  Lead a team of seven to ten, including sales associates and sales support staff
•  Deliver exceptional customer service over multiple channels (in-store, phone, email, online)
•  Craft and manage the store’s product mix
•  Write shelf-talkers for new products
•  Write weekly emails promoting new products and store events
•  Manage the store’s social media
•  Assist in the development and implementation of eCommerce capability (platform launching this fall)
•  Expand business through community partnerships
•  Manage product inventory (from purchasing to order fulfillment); working knowledge of SevenFifty and Proof-by-Southern preferred
•  Input and catalog new items into LightSpeed (the store’s point-of-sale system); establish retail pricing based on both value proposition and competitive landscape
•  Communicate inventory updates (new items/allocations/OOS) to staff
•  Manage supplier relationships; schedule weekly in-store supplier tastings; maintain an excel file detailing nightly wine tastings
•  Perform regular cycle counts of inventory; oversee quarterly inventory counts
•  Manage nightly cash counts and daily bank deposits
•  Enter inbound POs into LightSpeed
•  Send bookkeeper a weekly summary of POs, invoices and mail
•  Provide payroll details to bookkeeper; ensure timesheets are accurate
•  Draft and distribute a monthly staff schedule
•  Issue a daily sales report (at EOD)
•  Report to the store founder


Compensation commensurate with experience.
