POSITION SUMMARY
This position reports to the Hospitality Manager and is a hospitality and sales focused role. Primary functions include selling wine, hosting educational tastings in the tasting room and outdoor space, hosting virtual tastings, conducting outreach, and assisting the Hospitality Manager in running errands pertinent to keeping the tasting room running smoothly.

Hospitality Associate – Reports directly to Hospitality Manager
* Assist Hospitality Manager and Dir. of Sales in driving business to the tasting room
* Host virtual tastings for new Herold at Home program as needed
* Assist in coming up with new, creative ideas to increase tasting signups
* Conduct outreach and engage in community networking functions
* Demonstrate proficiency in call and email campaigns
* Assist Hospitality Manager in running errands pertinent to keeping the tasting room running smoothly
* Express a high level of luxury communication both via email and phone
* Proficiency with Google Suite (Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Gmail)

* Shows enthusiasm for telling the winemaker’s story answering visitors’ questions
* Provides a fun and educational guest experience for visitors
* Assists with tasting room task lists i.e. display and stocking of wine or retail items, inventory, clearing & cleaning dish ware and assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of facilities
* Assists with special events on or off site along with industry outreach to concierge and tasting rooms
* Acquires a thorough understanding of Wine Direct POS & Admin Panel, third party shipping protocol, and off-site warehouses
* Demonstrates a professional appearance and demeanor
* Available for weekends or evenings as the tasting room schedule requires

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
* Ability to learn details of all wines, tell the winery’s story, winemaker’s background and answer visitors’ questions
* Ability to convert interest to sales and club memberships
* Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of Wine Direct POS & Admin Panel, third party shipping protocol, and off-site warehouses
* Ability to self-manage priorities and workflow
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
* Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are required in order to interact effectively with a variety of people in the Tasting Room; to present a friendly, outgoing, fun image of the winery to customers.
* Basic mathematical skills are required in order to process sales transactions and calculate inventory needs
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to plan, prioritize, multi-task and follow up

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Enthusiasm for hospitality and excellent communication skills both oral and written
* Computer skills including Word, Excel, CRM. The ability to read and report financial statements a plus
* Wine knowledge
* Must be 21 years of age or older
* Professional appearance and demeanor

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions and key responsibilities of this position.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner at all times. The ability to stand and walk for several hours a day, climb stairs, bend, lift, twist, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, and to occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
