Position Summary

The Estate Caretaker role is responsible for the overall care and upkeep of our tasting room facility in Calistoga and our office building in St. Helena. This role is best suited to an organized self-starter with an eye for detail who takes pride in their work and has the ability to take a commonsense approach to identifying and resolving issues. This is a part-time role and averages 15-25 hours per week with a flexible work schedule.

Essential Functions

•  Provides hands-on upkeep to ensure properties are looking their best for the public
•  Perform preventative maintenance and undertake basic building repairs
•  Act as company liaison with third party maintenance contractors
•  Perform year round groundskeeping for two properties
•  Identify and complete capital projects as necessary
•  Assist with setup and teardown for wine tasting appointments and special events
•  Perform general custodial duties as necessary
•  Ensure a tidy and organized work area for tools and supplies
•  Move cased product from delivery provider to storage areas
•  Assemble and move furniture and other large items as necessary


•  Minimum 2 years general landscaping and maintenance experience
•  Must provide reliable transportation for use in daily job functions
•  Positive and outgoing with a passion for excellence
•  Reliable, flexible, and able to handle multiple priorities, meeting strict deadlines
•  Above average attention to detail with the ability to work with very limited supervision
•  Possess good judgement and common sense and be adept at making sound business decisions independently

•  Willing to pursue ongoing system and process improvement

Physical Demands and Work Environment

•  Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, kneel, stand and walk more than 75% of the day
•  Must be able to operate and maintain various gardening and other power tools
•  Must be able to move freely between various spaces
•  Frequently ascends/descends stairs and ladders as necessary
•  Must be able to effectively converse and exchange information
•  Frequently moves materials weighing up to 75 pounds
•  Constantly works outdoors in non-climate-controlled conditions
•  Candidates must be over 18 years of age and possess a valid California driver’s license
•  Must be able to work flexible shifts if/when required
•  Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks
