Rutherford Wine is looking for a regular, full-time cellar worker to join our cellar team. The role is comprised of a variety of cellar tasks in a medium-sized winery. This is a full-time, hourly paid position working side by side with the winemaking team.
Assist in daily/weekly production goals.
Follow written and verbal standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Assist in receiving and processing fruit, sorting, pressing, etc. during harvest.
Perform punch-downs & pump-overs during harvest.
Assist bottling line operation when required.
Cleaning and sanitation of winery & equipment.
Juice racking, and wine movements from tank to tank, barrel to barrel, barrel to tank.
Barrel filling, topping, stirring, and racking.
Record data and complete work orders accurately.
Forklift work including moving and stacking wine barrels.
Follow company policy and winemaking procedures.
Pull samples as needed.
Calculate tank dips when required.
Reading and carrying out winemaking requests and work orders with minimal guidance.
Capable of using topping tools, PC pumps, air pumps.
General cellar housekeeping and sanitation.
Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.
Good reading, writing and math skills.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Have reliable transportation and report to work on-time.
Ability to accurately complete work instructions individually or in a team.
