Salvestrin Winery is looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated intern for the 2021 vintage.
We are a small third generation family winery in the heart of Napa Valley specializing in premium Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Petite Sirah, and Sauvignon Blanc. We are farming organically and farm nearly everything we vinify. The Salvestrins have farmed their estate Dr. Crane Vineyard for 89 years. This is a very hands-on, wear many hats type of winery. You will learn everything from grape sampling and ripeness assessment through fermentation, pressing, and beyond. We are primarily interested in local candidates; we are small and need help for the peak of harvest lasting about 6 weeks.
Competitive pay. Timing would be September 1 to October 15.
Must love to clean, learn, and multi-task. A can do attitude and positive disposition are mandatory for success. You will be cleaning (and then cleaning some more), dragging hoses, performing punch downs, pump overs, brix and temp readings, tasting, sorting fruit, digging tanks, cleaning again - you get the idea.
We bring in approximately 120 tons of fruit each year. We have a very small winemaking crew to get the job done. Willingness to work long hours and weekends is a must, along with the physical strength to work on your feet all day. No whiners please. If you think you can handle the magic of vintage, please submit a CV to email@example.com. Cheers
