Job Description:

Dusted Valley is a dynamic growing family-owned winery in the Walla Walla Valley. The candidate we are searching for is determined, detail-oriented, and motivated to be a part of an interactive winemaking team dedicated to constantly improving wine quality. The successful candidate will have the advantage of wearing many hats and expanding their skill set.

TITLE. Enologist

DUTIES. The employee will be dedicated to all facets of receiving and processing grapes and the production of wine. This will include but not be limited to the following duties.
1. Vineyard evaluation and sampling as assigned
2. Lab analysis of juice, wine, data entry, and documentation
3. Organize and conduct wine additions and fining trials
4. Maintain inventory and ordering of lab supplies, gasses, chemicals
5. Wine lot and barrel tracking
6. SO2 additions and topping
7. Organize and participate in wine evaluation
8. Participate in grape receiving, processing, and wine production during harvest both day and swing shifts
9. Help manage harvest crew
10. Generate and execute work orders on a timely basis
11. General maintenance of winery facility and equipment
12. Understand and execute winery equipment and barrel SSOP’s
13. Maintain general cleanliness and good sanitation in the wine processing area
14. Racking and blending wines
15. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the winemaking process and procedures
16. Use forklift to move barrels and equipment
17. Bottling prep and execution
18. General maintenance and upkeep of grounds
19. Continuing education and professional development as directed by management
20. Work all special events at the Walla Walla tasting room as needed
21. Participate in Dusted Valley and Boomtown brand spokesperson duties as required

Background/Experience
•  Encourage a BS Degree in Enology, Viticulture or related
•  Must have "hands-on" wine production experience
•  Desired experience in winery cellar supervision
•  Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook at an intermediate level
•  This position requires a highly motivated individual who is organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently as well as a member of a team
