DTC Tasting Room - Distillery

Job Description:

Are you outgoing and able to talk to anyone? Do you love whiskey and craft cocktail culture?

We're looking for an exceptional person to promote the sale of spirits and merchandise in our distillery tasting room, occasionally conduct tours and assist with hospitality special events. We need someone with personality and the desire to be a part of something special. Weekend availability required, although occasional events will be scheduled on weekdays. Potential to expand into Production Assistant if interested.

COVID ADJUSTMENTS: We follow all COVID-19 safety measures for both staff and consumers! We provide PPE (masks & gloves) and hand sanitizer and we take daily temps and provide bi-weekly testing. Currently all tasting visits are private outdoor tastings by appointment only -- we hope to return to open hours as soon as state and county restrictions allow. All events are on hold as well.

Qualifications & Requirements:

•  Brewery, cidery, distillery, winery, bartending, retail or tasting room experience required

•  Direct sales experience a plus

•  Ability to make cocktails

•  Customer service experience a must

•  High School Diploma or Equivalent required

•  Must be flexible/available to work weekends, special events and holidays

•  Possess a valid driver's license

•  Enthusiasm for spirits and interest in expanding expertise

•  Superior customer service skills and service driven

•  Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

•  Friendly, positive and professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors and team members

•  Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

•  Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to do the following:

•  Must be able to bend, squat, climb, push, stoop, and crouch repeatedly

•  Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods as required by job duties

•  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis

•  Must be 21 years or older

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

•  Provide excellent customer service in all areas of the job while creating a memorable experience

•  Welcome guests, share knowledge about our products and the history of our company, and present the portfolio of spirits

•  Conduct tastings and tours of the facility, explaining the basic distilling process

•  Confidently and knowledgeably speak about spirits including whiskey, gin, bitters, brandy and various cocktails

•  Promote the sale of spirits and non-spirit products sold in the Tasting Room, and drive new customers to the Spirit Club

•  Strong focus on closing sales and up-selling

•  Collect names and email addresses for future contact

•  Learn POS systems and manage spirit and merchandise transactions

•  Possess a high level of integrity for performing sales transactions

•  Aiding in tracking spirit and retail inventory

•  Stock supplies and maintain displays in retail areas as needed

•  Assist with on site and off site events including closing and securing of the tasting lounge concluding events
