Job Description:

Due to an internal promotion we are seeking to fill the Cost Accountant position.

Position Summary:
The Cost Accountant has a critical role on the finance team and is responsible for calculating and maintaining costs, as well as performing the accounting, reporting and variance analysis on product cogs changes. This role reports into the Finance Director, and collaborates extensively with the Supply team.

Position Responsibilities:
•  Responsible for monitoring and accounting for costs associated with the production of finished goods inventory from grapes through bulk wine to bottling
•  Perform product and cost analyses to understand drivers of changes in COGS
•  Manage work order status within ERP system and confirm work order accuracy
•  Perform WIP and manufacturing accounting month end processes within system
•  Responsible for monthly reconciliation of bulk wine
•  Manage and report harvest data which includes crush reports and grape crush inquiry reports
•  Provide costing estimations for new products, and forecasting new vintage cogs
•  Issue and review grapes, bulk wine and barrels invoices.
•  Responsible for grapes AR collection.
•  Prepare related journal entries
•  Other duties as assigned

•  BS/BA Degree in Business/Accounting required
•  Minimum 3-5 years related experience
•  Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost/manufacturing accounting
•  Intermediate/advanced MS Excel skills
•  Winery experience desirable, but not necessary
•  Experience in ERP environments (JD Edwards preferred)
