Job Description:

Premium Washington state winery is seeking a motivated individual to fill our cellar harvest intern position. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on cellar experience with a great team in a positive work environment. The position is fluid and offers a broad range of training in various cellar tasks.

•  Cleaning and sanitation of crush equipment and winery facilities
•  Daily set-up and break down of crush equipment
•  Hydrating, filling, and topping barrels
•  Punch downs, pump-overs, brix readings, juice and wine sampling
•  Inoculation and fermentation additions
•  Vineyard sampling
•  Various other duties as assigned by winemaking team

- The ideal candidate will be motivated, hardworking, trustworthy and have a positive attitude
- Have the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with other people
- Pay close attention to detail
- Work in a safe manner around large pieces of equipment and chemicals
- Be able to stand for long periods of time
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Grasp, crawl, stoop, squat, carry, climb ladders, stairs and barrel racks
- Use hands to finger, handle and feel
- Reach with hands and arms
- Bend at the waist
- See (full color vision)
- Taste, smell and evaluate juice and wines
- Work seven days a week
- Follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Have a valid driver’s license and transportation

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and will sometimes require ear protection.
