2021 Harvest Interns

The Carlton Winemakers Studio

Carlton, OR

Job Description:

The Carlton Winemakers Studio is looking for 2021 Harvest Interns:

We are a small AP facility that is home to roughly 15 different wine labels and their winemakers (Ratio Wines, 00 Wines, Project M, Lavinea and many, many more) - giving you the opportunity to be exposed to everything from hand clipping berries into amphora (you don't have to do the clipping, don't worry) to well honed, new world techniques. From veterans of the industry to podcast ‘stars’ and kick ass lady winemakers, the Studio is your one stop shop for a great learning experience.

The position will start early September, exact date to be confirmed closer to harvest.

You will be involved in all the stock standard harvest activities including:
•  Fruit sorting - or helping to drive the line.
•  Punch downs, pump overs, B&Ts, maybe a little bit of lab work.
•  Cleaning … So. Much. Cleaning.
•  Pressing schenanigans.
•  Barrelling down.

We are looking for people who are excited to be thrown into the hubbub of harvest and can maintain a positive attitude and sense of humour when it feels like the day is never going to end. Attention to detail is a must as well as the ability to go with the flow and be flexible about changing plans.
Bonus points if you are confident on the forklift.

There is the potential for an early start (July) for an experienced candidate (4+ harvests) who demonstrates leadership ability.

Due to the current state of the world, we are unfortunately unable to take on any international applications this year.
