On Premise Sales Representative

Job Description:

Account Management:
Define each account based on business potential and product mix to establish a product Pro forma to include suggested wines by category, costs, pricing, pours and margins.
•  Define product delivery and order opportunities based on storage, minimum load, and customer input to establish order frequency
•  Manage out of stocks/misorders through accurate orders, replacement, redelivery to solve the problems and fix the issues
•  Present the full range of APB products and working strategies to include special sales, close outs, promotions
•  Review quarterly the Customer account and update products, costing, pricing to ensure target profitability
•  Review delivery procedures to ensure prompt product delivery

Sales Objectives-New Accounts:
•  Maximize APB exposure as demonstrated by the percentage of product in key categories
•  Maintain control of all aspects of the on-premise wine and malt business in each account
•  Execute promotions, restaurant staff training, and customer tasting; Bar-Banners, table tents, special pricing
•  Recommend and establish pricing as defined by the owners’ margin requirements
•  Define margin for “wine by the glass” sales

Sales Objectives-Existing accounts
•  Control all aspects of the wine and malt beverage business including by-the-glass, back bar, mixers, cooking wine, and water
•  Increase APB presence by expanding the categories and the key products in each category through the timely introduction of new products, company training, and special sale opportunities
•  Maintain pricing as defined by owners’ requirements
•  Maintain margins and profitability in “wine by the glass” business, wine by the bottle, beer, and peripherals through timely communication, special sales participation, and closeout opportunities
•  Have a full understanding of all Federal and State regulations governing the sales and distribution of alcoholic beverages in North Carolina
•  Communicate to employees and customers
•  Enforce NC ABC compliance completely and without exception

•  Quality-Account knowledge as demonstrated by monthly definition of account status against benchmarks with detailed explanation of the deltas
•  Quality-Accurate ordering as measured by out of stocks and reorders
•  Quality-Demonstrated product knowledge
•  Quality-Promotions executed fully
•  Productivity & Quality-Pours in key price points and varietals by account
•  Productivity-Growth by account/Total sales to budget

•  Customer account management skills
•  Proven Customer Service skills
•  Working knowledge of wine and beer products

Education and /or Work Experience:
•  College degree or related work experience
•  1+ years experience in account management

Language Skills:
•  Strong oral communication skills
•  Ability to present information to small and large groups
•  Ability to understand and communicate customer issues

Computer Skills:
•  Ability to read and send email
•  Use of Excel to track goal objectives, track displays
•  Use of internal software to run sales history reports for weekly tracking
•  Use of Word, or Excel or Powerpoint for presentations as part of
fact- based selling.

Mathematical Skills:
•  Basic Math skills
Reasoning Skills:
•  Ability to prioritize projects
•  Ability to negotiate company/customer win/win solutions
•  Ability to manage time effectively

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
•  Current and valid NC drivers license
•  Valid ABC sales permit
•  ABC’s of wine tasting

Physical Demands:
•  Driving in rural and urban areas
•  Moderate lifting (50#)

Work Environment:
•  APB office
•  Extended route responsibilities
•  Ability to work a flexible schedule to include early mornings and / or late evenings
