We’re looking for a special person to help lead our Marketing team at WX Brands. The Director of Marketing will be a strategic leader that drives all aspects of the brand marketing function. They will lead brand strategy, brand positioning, and portfolio management across our growing stable of national brands as well as our industry leading exclusive brands. The Director of Marketing will also lead a team of Brand Managers to develop brand plans geared to drive explosive growth across multiple segments in the Wine category. This position will collaborate closely with Trade Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations and Winemaking to meet annual and long-term financial goals. In addition, the director will also manage external agencies and partners, lead new product development, and work closely with the Direct-To-Consumer team to deliver a best-in-class experience both in person and online at our tasting rooms.
Create and develop long term Brand Objectives and Strategies
Lead development of Brand Plans to hit Annual growth goals
Collaborate with Trade Marketing Manager to develop and produce sales and trade support materials including trade promotions, POS and incentives
Lead team through business analysis to identify opportunities and manage risk
Analyze categories and competition to identify and present brand and product growth opportunities
Analyze COGs, revenue and margin for all products to ensure gross margin targets are hit
Direct all wine packaging, brand standards, public relations, creative functions, and event management for national and exclusive
Interface with sales, winemaking and operations to drive forecasting and product packaging planning
Oversee Direct to Consumer marketing and collaborate DTC teams to drive revenue growth
Contribute to the development of Company’s brand and product portfolio strategies; plan and execute line extensions and product launches.
Leadership of team of 4-5 people including brand managers across portfolio
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing; MBA strongly preferred
10+ years of marketing experience, wine industry experience strongly desired
5+ years of P&L management
Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple reports
Must have strong analytical, data interpretation, and critical thinking skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to juggle the development, implementation, and completion of multiple projects
Strong track record of managing multiple, diverse brands
Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
Demonstrated presentation development and delivery skills
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Passion for wine
Digital Marketing savvy
Strong track record of Marketing measurement
This role is based out of our Novato office which is currently closed due to Covid 19. The office will remain closed through year end and we hope to return to working together in Novato as a team in 2021. Until that time, this role will be 100% remote. Once the office is reopened, we expect our Director of Marketing to be working full-time in our Novato office.
