This person we’re seeking must be hospitable, knowledgeable, innovative, creative, self-motivated, and professionally and emotionally mature. This person will work independently and within a small team provide exceptional service and hospitality at our tasting rooms.
SUCCESS OF THIS POSITION?
This role is designed to lay the foundation for ‘Soter Hospitality’ through successfully hosting guests in semi-private tastings, and selling wine via educational and relationship-based experiences. Knowledge of daily operations, promotions and protocols, and confidence in public speaking and presenting will ensure you meet the expectations of this job. Continuing to learn more about and master our wines, Mineral Springs Ranch, and philosophical practices will yield higher success in this role. Your willingness to help with miscellaneous tasks and projects with enthusiasm will provide an added layer of success. Extensive knowledge of service etiquette, and culinary preparations and vocabulary will also aid in your work here at Soter.
*Conduct tastings when scheduled. Host Classic Tastings, Provisions Tastings and Wine Club Casual Tastings weekly. Pour and present wines, educate visitors about Soter Vineyards and provide an exceptional overall experience for ALL guests. Tactfully encourage wine club enrollment.?
*Ensure tables are set for tastings with proper glassware, point of sale materials, etc.
*Work with Tasting Assistant to turn tables and manage incoming guests/appointments.
*Maintain ample supply of current tasting notes, order forms and wine club materials. Facilitate communications regarding reprints and updates as necessary.
*Maintain proper wine inventory and communications with guests. Work with Hospitality Assistant to ensure adequate supply of all current release wines. Transfer inventory from winery to lodge when necessary.
*Write and send follow up emails and/or postcards to visitors and supervisors when necessary.
TASTING ROOM CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
*Oversee opening procedures: sweep and dust as needed, wipe down tables, setup patio and greeting station, restock bathrooms.
*Oversee closing procedures: return furniture to proper arrangement, lock doors, shut off lights, shut down fireplace and flue fans, restore organization and cleanliness.
*Help with feeding and caring for cats.
*Work with Hospitality Assistant in maintaining ample clean glassware, wine room, kitchen, cabin and lodge facilities.
*Assist Tasting Room Supervisor in lodge repair and maintenance. Conduct survey of lodge condition weekly and coordinate repair requests with supervisor.

This job is seasonal. Part-time or Full-time from June-November.
