Job Description:

Miner Family Winery is a small, family-owned winery located in Oakville, CA. We produce premium Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux blends, as well as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Syrah, and other Rhône varietals. We are seeking four highly motivated people to join our staff for the 2020 harvest. These are seasonal F/T positions. We are looking to fill two of the positions immediately, to work on our bottling assembly line through the summer and then transitioning to harvest work. The other two positions will start in mid-August and will focus on harvest work exclusively. All positions will end in late November.

These positions provide hands-on experience and will be involved in all aspects of crush and fermentation, and offer the opportunity to work closely with the winemaking team.

Bottling duties may include, but are not limited to:
•  Lifting and loading empty bottles onto a conveyor
•  Stand-up fallen bottles on the bottling line, placing capsules on bottles
•  Casing full bottles into boxes
•  Handle pallets of packaging materials
•  Perform general cleanup within the bottling area

Harvest duties may include, but are not limited to:
•  Fruit processing and destemming
•  Inoculations
•  Fermentation monitoring
•  Cap management (punchdowns & pumpovers)
•  Filling and racking tanks
•  Draining and pressing
•  Filling and topping barrels
•  Cleaning and sanitation
•  Sample collection for the lab
•  Forklift operation

Training will be provided in all areas.

Qualifications & Skills:
•  Serious interest in wine and a desire to have a career in the wine industry
•  Previous cellar work is a plus but not required
•  Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
•  Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, such as lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive movements, bending down, and ascend/descend ladders
•  Maintain satisfactory attendance, including timeliness
•  Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety considerations in a fast-paced production atmosphere
•  Must have a valid unrestricted driver’s license
•  Ability to lawfully work in the USA
•  Ability to work extended hours and on weekends during peak harvest period
