Company: Union Wine Company
Title: Amity/Alchemist Harvest Interns
Union Wine Company is looking for five experienced, hardworking, light-hearted humans to join our high-end/small lot winemaking team for this year’s harvest of 200 tons of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Blanc that compose our premium brands Alchemist Wines and Amity Vineyards.
We are situated between Portland and the Willamette Valley wine country in a warehouse-winery affectionately known as the Industrial Chateau. Founded in 2005, Union Wine Company embraces the artistry of making great wine, minus all the fuss. Union cares more about what goes into the bottle than what kind of bottle (or can) it is. The vast majority of our fruit sourcing and production is for the brand Underwood, which utilizes a proportional amount of winery space and harvest resources. Our most beloved fruit, however, is vinified in our ultra-premium winery within the greater facility by a small team of self-motivated and experienced cellar staff.
Candidates will be tasked with red processing, white processing, forklift work, tank racking, additions and inoculations, cap management, red pressing, barrel work, and (of course) lots of sanitation.
The position will commence around the first of September and conclude in the middle of November. Individuals will generally work nine to ten hours per day and have one day off per week. Benefits include: hourly wage DOE, daily catered meals during the peak of harvest, plenty of coffee and snacks, Union swag, and shared camaraderie.
-Completed at least one harvest
-Positive “can-do” attitude
- Available to work flexible shifts (including evenings and weekends) from September through November
-Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
-Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs (22.7kg)
-Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours, six days a week
-Ability to work at heights up to 15 feet
