Job Description:

Established in 2017, The Princess and The Bear is an exciting and unique wine importer focused on the best wines of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, the SuperNatural South of France. Our Seattle-based owners spend many months of the year living in the Languedoc region, tasting hundreds of wines then hand picking for our wine club, online shop and private tasting room the most delicious and interesting small domaine “root to sip” wines made by passionate male and female winemakers who also grow their own grapes.

Our Sales and Hospitality Team is expanding, and as our wine club grows, we are recruiting for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and fun Tasting Room Associate for our Georgetown location. In addition to pouring and selling our Princess and Bear portfolio in the private tasting room, there is the opportunity to pour at off-site events. This is a part time position with weekend hours. This position is about creating an educational, memorable and comfortable experience to foster customer delight, with an emphasis on signing up new club members. The ideal candidate loves wine and people, is dynamic, charismatic, flexible, versatile and is a team player with excellent people and sales skills.

•  Showcase our wines and cultivate loyal guests measured by repeat visits and sales in our Tasting Room
•  Develop your knowledge of our portfolio of Languedoc-Roussillon wines and winemakers to ensure high standards of customer satisfaction
•  Sign up new club members and achieve sales goals
•  Attend off-site wine events as needed
•  Lead private, reservation-based tasting appointments as needed
•  Develop relationships with wine club members and consumers
•  Handle routine sales transactions, which includes Wine Direct POS system and daily sales accounting
•  Assist in maintaining cleanliness of Tasting Room
•  Assist in accurate and timely packaging of scheduled wine shipments
•  Follow all proper tasting room procedures
•  Communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person

Perform other duties assigned by manager:
•  Team player with enthusiastic outlook
•  Strong attention to detail
•  Exceptional communication skills
•  Proficiency with Wine Direct POS systems and Word; Excel and social media platforms a plus
•  Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and accomplish a wide variety of tasks
•  Must be able to work weekends (including holiday weekends) and occasional evenings
•  Must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license
•  Must be able to lift 45 lbs regularly, and stand for long periods of time
•  Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
•  Have or acquire a class 12 MAST server and Food Handler’s permits
•  References required
