Erosion Wine Co. is hiring! We’re looking for hard working, fun, and passionate people to join our family. These fantastic individuals will be the first to greet our customers and show them a great time. We'd like to bring on 3 full time Tap Room Associates.
We at Erosion Wine Co. believe flavor comes first. Our approach is unique within Napa Valley in our approach to flavor development and how the customer interacts with our wine. Our wines are non-stylistic, non-vintage, non-appellation, made in a non-nonsense sort of way, and we put our delicious wine into cans. Cans! We are constantly exploring, so all of our wines are one time releases to make room for new ideas.
Our downtown St. Helena location at the corner of Main St. & Hunt St. will be fully operational in March, with soft opening and training happening in February.
We want our Tap Rooms (our name for a “tasting room”) to be a gathering spot for locals and a welcoming, fun destination for visitors. We aim to have them be a fast paced and exciting environment to work in. They will feature 24 draft lines (wine in kegs!), of which many will be small, experimental 60 gallon blends for tasting by the flight, by the glass, or to go in a 750mL crowlers (large, resealable can). All of our wine will be packaged in 8 oz. cans in a fun, 3 packs. Forgive us, we came from the craft beer world, so we tend to think about things a little differently.
As a full time Tap Room Associate, you'd receive 100% coverage on our health insurance plan, and 50% coverage for eligible dependents. We will consider part time applicants as well. Hourly compensation is competitive within the industry and ranges depending on level of experience, plus tips and commission for club signups.
The Tap Room Associates will have the following responsibilities:
-Provide a welcoming and fun guest experience
-Communicate our memberships and range of wines available for home
-Present wine to customers in a clean, professional manner
-Describe wines in terms of flavor comparisons
-Educate guests with accurate facts about our unique approach
-Participate in team building and continuing education events
-Maintain high cleanliness standards during service and upon closing for the day
-Be on your feet most of the day to serve customers
-Wash and polish glasses
-Become knowledgeable about draft wine systems and assist in cleaning the equipment
-Perform opening and closing procedures, such as counting cash drawers, ensuring proper supplies levels, filling out reports, etc.
-Restocking inventory, which requires lifting of up to 50 lbs., and up to 70 lbs. for our kegs that are restocked in a cooler close to the ground.
The right candidate has a demonstrable passion for wine, displays enthusiasm for life, is of legal drinking age within the United States, has a clean criminal record, and has prior customer service experience, preferably within a tasting room environment. A love of beer doesn’t hurt, either.
Erosion Wine Co. is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
