The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the timely and accurate analysis of grapes, must, and wine at both Girard and Clos Pegase wineries, located in Calistoga. The position works closely with the Enologist to manage daily analysis work flow and special projects but must interface with the winemakers and cellar teams as well.
The position works closely with the Assistant Winemaker to manage daily analysis work flow and special projects but must interface with the winemakers and cellar teams as well. The position provides support to the Assistant Winemaker, carrying out all day-to-day wine analysis across multiple brands in a routine and timely manner in order to meet demanding yearly production schedules. Data entry will be a key part of this position, ensuring accurate and efficient record keeping. This position will also be responsible for the setup and participation in winemaking trials, sample collection and winery research and development of new protocol and product testing.

Collect samples for routine analysis and tastings as needed.
Accurately record results and input data into spreadsheets and/or wine tracking software
Conduct all laboratory and experimental trials with timely interpretation and relay of results to the winemaking team
1+ years in a wine industry related lab
At least one harvest experience in a winery laboratory
Knowledge of basic winery and cellar procedures a plus
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Vinpoint a plus
