Grgich Hills Estate was founded in 1977 by Miljenko “Mike” Grgich and Austin Hills, of the Hills Bros. coffee company, after the Chateau Montelena Chardonnay Mike crafted won the now-famous 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best wines of France. Grgich Hills Estate remains family-owned and operated, practicing the art of winemaking by crafting food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines. We farm our five certified organic estate vineyards without artificial pesticides or herbicides, rely on wild yeast fermentation and use our passion and art to handcraft our award-winning wines.

Summary: Responsible for creating and fostering a positive relationship/experience with Grgich Hills guests. Responsible for promoting a friendly and engaging environment. Grgich Hills employees are ambassadors of the winery and are individually responsible for visitors’ impressions of Grgich Hills Estate. Engaging, friendly, outgoing personality, advanced wine knowledge, and a working understanding of the history of Napa Valley as well as Grgich Hills Estate is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

•  Provide guests with a memorable and unique experience through:
•  Personal greetings and farewells, using guests’ names whenever possible
•  Enhanced education about Grgich Hills Estate history and wines
•  Anticipation of guests’ needs in the areas of sales, service and concierge services
•  Developing relationships with guests to stimulate repeat visits and future sales
•  Perform wine club maintenance projects monthly which include but are not limited to:
•  Outbound calls to update credit card information for expired and decline members
•  US Mail/Returned mail, outreach to member to update information
•  Ship occasional packages via UPS or FedEx
•  Assist with answering phones and company email inquiries
•  Assist as needed with pulling, packaging and shipping retail and wholesale orders
•  Assist in events that are held off and on premise as requested
•  Assist guests with wine tasting, education and purchases
•  Sell wine and accessories to Wine Club guests/customers
•  Provide excellent customer service, in person or over the telephone
•  Responsible, at all times, for representing the company in a positive manner and protecting Grgich Hills Estate property.
•  Perform other projects/duties/assignments as needed or as directed by management


Education/Experience/Skills

•  Minimum of two years sales and customer service experience, preferably in the wine industry
•  Detail oriented and organized with experience in accurate database management or data entry
•  Ability to work independently and see projects and issues to timely resolution
•  Good organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
•  Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
•  Ability to anticipate customer needs and respond appropriately, as well as take initiative to resolve day-to-day customer concerns
•  Ability to work in a team environment
•  Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; prior experience with database management systems and POS, AMS experience a plus
•  Weekends and some holidays are required


Requirements

•  Must be 21 years of age
•  Must be able to lift 45 lbs frequently
•  Knowledge of wine and wine tasting practices
•  Ability to generate sales
