At Karah Estate we grow and make 90 tons of Pinot Noir. Working with a small team, the Assistant Winemaker is the day to day presence for all things wine making.
Duties include sorting in the field, lab analysis, weigh in, crushing, fermenting (cap management), aging, bottling and shipping around 5000 cases of wine.
A strong foundation of knowledge and experience is required to operate all aspects of wine making; the ideal candidate has 4 years of experience in a professional production setting.
If you specialize in the lab you will learn how to drive a forklift, if you are excellent at project management in the cellar then you will learn basic chemistry.
A degree is preferred, although we are also willing to consider experience.
So if 40 acres of estate Pinot appeals let me know.
