Eastern Virginia winery in search of experienced manager to work with existing team to increase distribution in on and off premise markets.
Manage key distributor relationships
Establish and maintain professional contact with high-visibility accounts and work in conjunction with distributor to ensure prominent placements
Work with marketing department on promotions and branding
Meet with local managers to maintain presence and negotiate shelf space
Follow up with accounts frequently to review product turnover and discuss new promotions or wines.
Meet goals and sales objectives set by senior management on monthly and annual basis
Prepare forecasts for shipments and depletions for month and year.
Communicate with management frequently regarding the market, sales trends, and response to product offerings
5+ years in commercial sales role, preferably in the wine industry
Extensive fine wine knowledge, familiarity with Virginia wine industry a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent management and organizational skills
Computer literate – proficient in Microsoft office, Google apps, and SQL servers
General understanding of state compliance and liquor laws
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to drive a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license
