2019 Harvest Intern


Napa, CA

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to be our lead intern for ~4 months and work directly with our winemaking team for the 2019 vintage. This is a hands on position that will allow the intern to participate in most of our major wine projects focusing on vineyard, harvest and bottling.

Involvement/ Responsibilities:
o Extensive wine work
o Harvest prep
o Tastings
o Grape processing/ sorting
o Cap management
o Inoculations
o Juice/ wine additions
o Pressing
o Cleaning
o Vineyard sampling
o Vineyard monitoring
o Supervising picks
o Bottling/ packaging
o Lab work

o A consistently positive attitude and willing to trade hard work for a dynamic well-rounded winemaking experience.
o Knowledge of wine
o Passion for tasting
o Appreciation and the ability to perform physical work all day (8- 11 hours)
o Capacity to learn new things
o Flexible to work 6-7 days a week.
o A desire to have a career in the wine industry
o Ability to bend, squat and lift 40 lbs.
o Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license

Since their grapes are sourced from a multitude of exceptional vineyards across the valley you are able to learn about and sample fruit in different appellations and follow these lots through fermentation and barrel storage to see their distinct evolution. You're able to get hands-on experience as a contributing member of a tight knit high-functioning team. With over 30 fermentation lots there is exposure to both small barrel fermentation lots and larger tank ferments and you can closely follow the subtleties and evolution each through both lab and sensory analysis. Anyone with an enthusiastic willingness to learn and contribute will be rewarded many times over in this position. "
