Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery, a member of Foley Family Wines has an immediate opening for a full-time Quality Assurance Lab Technician. Since its founding back in 1904, Sebastiani has been one of Sonoma County’s most important wine producers. Today, the winery is making the finest wines in its long history. With a spotlight on single sites and sub-appellations. Sebastiani is generating high praise from the wine press, consumers and industry gatekeepers.

Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Lab Technician provides analytical and quality assurance support to the bottling line and secondary backup to the lab during harvest as well as running wine analysis. This position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing a career in winemaking. We are looking for someone who is energetic, organized, wants to learn, enjoys the winemaking process and is able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
75% to 80% Perform quality assurance checks on the bottling line:
-Alcohol by ebulliometer
-Dissolved Oxygen checks on the bottled wine
-CO2 checks on applicable wines
-Pack and line checks
-Glass checks
-Fill Heights on bottled wine
-Plating of samples and reading and recording results
-Keeping proper records

20% to 25% During “down time”, help winemaking and production

-Ability to read, write and speak English
-Basic math skills
-Ability to accurately complete work instructions
-Ability to climb stairs, stand and walk for long hours
-Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
-Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions and inside a cool, noisy cellar
-Previous cellar and forklift experience is a plus but not required
-Candidates must be reliable, enthusiastic, motivated and take pride in their work
