Job Description:

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

•  Manage the sale force. Grow the sales.
•  Hold salespeople accountable for meeting their sales goals, growing their customer base and following procedures dictated to them by the Vintner Select Management Team
•  Evaluate salesperson performance and taking needed action to ensure that sales goals are met
•  Track and report results back to the management team
•  Act as liaison between the sales force, the management team and the warehouse and drivers
•  Forecast sales and provide direction for individual and company wide targets.
•  Devise and coordinate the development and implementation of programs to increase sales and achieve targets.
•  Develop, maintain and manage coordinated product sales strategies amongst all sales staff
•  Manage the execution of programs to train and develop new and existing sales people.
•  Develop and execute strategies to enhance sales and support for key accounts.
•  Ensure continuity of sales coverage for customers including adjudication of customer issues.
•  Communicate market trends and issues to the management team
•  Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers during market visits
•  Schedule Work with Portfolio Managers to meet both supplier and VS goals for market visits and plan market visits – set expectations for reps and hold them accountable for follow thru


KEY ACTIVITIES:

•  Recruitment, orientation and training of new sales people
•  Conduct/lead quarterly Sales Reviews along with weekly and monthly conversations as needed
•  Collaborate with portfolio managers on expected sales of volume brands and strategy to reach those sales goals
•  Negotiate, set, and manage individual sales goals and strategies
•  Plan and execute wine and sales training and coaching for each salesperson
•  Recommend scope, content, and presenters of Sales Meeting educational seminars
•  Personally call on key accounts to increase sales and Vintner Select presence
•  Develop and manage strategies for creating relationships with key account purchasers
•  Develop corporate accounts
•  Develop and manage weekly planner system for salespersons to communicate needs and changes
•  Traveling to all markets in 3 states and working with the sales reps on a regular basis

SKILLS REQUIRED:

•  A minimum of 4-5 years previous experience in a similar position is preferred
•  Effective management skills, strong communications skills – both written and verbal.
•  Effective coaching and training skills
•  Strong sales skills with a proven sales record showing growth
•  Strong wine knowledge
•  Strong collaborative skills and an ability
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office, excel and other computer skills
•  Strong relationships in the markets are preferred
•  Patience, respect for others and an outgoing personality
