Karah Estate Vineyard is seeking a dedicated and detail oriented harvest intern.
The winery is situated on our 160-acre property in the Petaluma Gap. We have forty acres of grapes planted to primarily Pinot Noir, with smaller plantings of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. We strive to make intensely flavored, but balanced wines with minimal additives or manipulation.
We are a small team that works in a modest facility, which means wearing many hats, working long hours, and getting intimate knowledge of the nuts and bolts of harvest-time cellar operations. Duties will include: cleaning, sanitation, vineyard sampling, cap management, fermentation monitoring, barrel maintenance, processing fruit, pressing, barreling down, wine additions, facility and property maintenance, and much more.
The ideal candidate will be hard-working, able to follow detailed directions, and eager to learn about producing premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Intern will work directly with winemaker, estate assistant, and vineyard foreman.
Candidates with some cellar experience are preferred, but attitude is everything. Candidates must be able to lift 75 pounds, work for extended periods on their feet in sunny/
hot/wet/cold conditions. Job will include early mornings and/or late nights.
