Quails’ Gate Winery is nestled in the beautiful Okanagan Valley in the southern interior of British Columbia. Our 125+ acre estate winery, located on the shores of Lake Okanagan, is owned and operated by the Stewart Family, pioneering horticulturists since the turn of the 20th century.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a full-time Irrigation Supervisor to operate and maintain all vineyard irrigation systems and monitoring equipment, and to play a key role in implementing any new irrigation technology or systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
*overseeing the operation and maintenance of all vineyard irrigation systems: controllers, pumps, filters, main-lines, sub-mains, drip-line etc.,
*monitoring and recording of different soil-moisture probes and database entry,
*be responsible for OH&S compliance within the vineyard operations,
*demonstrate or prepare to work towards competence in the following areas: excavator, tractor, sprayers and other vineyard equipment operation, soil and grapevine water demands,other pruning/harvest duties, as directed.
*have a minimum of 3 years of experience (in a supervisory role or higher) managing irrigation systems,
*have the ability to learn new concepts and communicate effectively with employees,
*have the ability to work in all-weather conditions and varying hours due to seasonal vineyard requirements,
*hold a valid class 5 driver’s license,
*possess an irrigation industry certificate and back-flow prevention certificate, an asset.
