Gorman Winery is looking for part timeTasting Room associates for our Woodinville Tasting Rooms available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts. Tasting Room Sales Associates are ambassadors of Gorman Winery and are responsible for providing exceptional, memorable guest experiences that embody the values of the company while maximizing wine sales and enlisting new Club members.
We have 2 positions available for weekend shifts.
Primary functions include cash register operations, product knowledge, product presentations, sales, and service.
Prepares the tasting room for daily opening and closing.
Greet guests, guide them through wine tasting options, open bottles and pour flights.
Educate about our wines, mission, and story and promote wine club to all guests.
Be a team player, work with other sales associates to reach daily and monthly sales goals.
Multitask, handle multiple groups and flights while also maintaining side-work, stocking, dishes etc.
Utilize POS systems on iPad and computer to process sales orders and reports.
Follow direction and fulfill duties assigned by manager.
Maintain positive attitude in a fast-paced hospitality environment Manage high-volume wine and merchandise sales.
Functions as an informed resource for consumers regarding winemaking, winegrowing, wine vintages, availability of products and brand awards/accolades.
Promotes membership in the Wine Club.
Stocks merchandise and supplies as needed.
Checks identification as required by state regulation for serving alcoholic beverages.
Recognizes the symptoms of intoxication and is able to suspend service to individuals.
Must be 21+ years of age.
Flexible with scheduling, available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Friendly, outgoing and engaging with strong communication and customer service skills.
Pro-active, reliable, honest, and punctual.
Cash register experience.
Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Lift 40-50 lbs frequently and stand for long periods of time.
Perform tasks requiring bending, standing, walking, twisting, and carrying.
Work in a loud, busy environment with elevated music and crowded spaces.
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART:
1 year of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, direct to consumer marketing, or wine education experience.
Knowledge of the different wine varietals.
Skilled in communication, presentation, sales and customer service.
Use of winery POS system such as Orderport.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage others.
Experience identifying opportunities for driving sales and engaging others.
