Gary Farrell Winery is one of the Russian River Valley’s preeminent producers of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. We are currently seeking Harvest Cellar Interns to join our team for the 2018 harvest season. As a harvest cellar intern you will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of crush activities while learning from a highly motivated and dynamic production team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Fruit sorting/processing
- Sanitation of processing/cellar equipment
- Monitoring fermentations (Brix, Temp)
- Punch downs
- Steam cleaning barrels
- Racking tanks
- Filling barrels
- Additions to juice and must
- Assist with draining and pressing
- Forklift driving (training provided)
- All other harvest related duties as required
Prior harvest experience is desired but not essential. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, detail driven individuals who possess an aptitude to work independently as well as part of a team. Candidates should have good communication skills, be reliable, punctual, and be prepared to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, day or night shift, and holidays.
All candidates will need to be fit and capable of working long hours, lift weights up to 50lbs, and endure extended periods of time walking, standing and climbing ladders. All safety protocols must be adhered to while employed by Gary Farrell Winery.
The period of employment will begin July 30th, and will continue to late September/early October depending upon the vintage.
