Cellar workers perform routine cellar winemaking activities in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety policies to ensure maximum productivity while maintaining high quality standards.
Primary Cellar Worker Responsibilities:
Performs all work activities in the cellar, including but not limited to running all equipment such as pumps, filters and harvest machinery as well as setting up hoses & tanks. Performs duties such as topping, racking, pumpovers and monitors fermentation
Carries out proper sanitation techniques for cleaning, sanitizing and storing all winery equipment and cellar activitis
Carries out specialized functions in the cellar during harvest, including but not limited to, additions to fermenting barrels and tanks and barrel filling and/or emptying.
Ability to follow written and verbal instruction. Accurately completes work orders
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Perform basic math calculations to complete written work orders.
Has a positive attitude and is able to work in a team with fellow winery employees
Ability to work flexible shifts, overtime and including graveyard during Harvest.
Forklift license a plus
Rotating shifts, including graveyard and long hours may be required during grape harvest.
Frequent walking, including going up and down stairs and ladders, dragging wine hoses and bending are required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continuously
Ability to shovel 50 pounds- digging out tanks
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
High school or equivalent
