Wilson Artisan Wineries produces and sells ultra-premium, boutique wines, sourced from fruit farmed throughout in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Renowned for their premier vineyards, award-winning wineries and luxurious accommodations, Ken and Diane Wilson oversee the careful stewardship of vineyards to ensure guests experience exceptional wines and beautiful scenery.
This position is located at our Wilson Winery Tasting Room. The Tasting Room Lead Sales Associate has the responsibility of supervising and mentoring the Tasting Room staff, increasing sales to meet daily sales goals through personal sales efforts and supporting the sale of wine and non-wine products sold by the Tasting Room staff. This position is also responsible for demonstrating, promoting and ensuring exceptional customer service to guests through their leadership and the training and development of Tasting Room staff.
This is a full-time position with benefits, working Thursday through Monday at Wilson Winery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales & Customer Service
Oversees Tasting Room staff to ensure they are properly trained on all procedures, including operating the cash register and credit card machine, maintaining proper inventory control, wine club member sign-ups and collecting customer contact information at the point of sale. Motivates Tasting Room Staff to ensure the Tasting Room meets sales and Wine Club sign-up goals. Other duties may be assigned.
Works closely with Tasting Room Manager, Wine Club Manager and Inventory Coordinator.
Participates in and/or leads daily staff meetings before Tasting Room opens to go over the daily schedule and discuss pertinent information.
Coordinates Tasting Room lunch breaks and rest breaks to ensure they are taken at the appropriate times in compliance with State law.
Carries out duties associated with the opening and closing of the Tasting Room, and trains all regular full-time and regular part-time staff on proper opening and closing procedures. Completes end of day reports as needed – completely and accurately.
Ensures that all Tasting Room staff follows responsible hospitality standards at all times.
Ensures that all guests are greeted immediately upon entry to the Tasting Room and are provided with experiences that build brand loyalty.
Works with the Tasting Room Manager to make sure price and tasting sheets are accurate and up to date.
Maintains the cleanliness of the Tasting Room, grounds, and restrooms, along with keeping merchandise stocked and presentable.
Fully supports the Winery’s policies and procedures.
Special projects and other responsibilities as required.
Business to business outreach – by phone and in person.
Must be available weekends and some holidays.

First-hand knowledge, appreciation and passion of wine and wine-related topics.
Winery experience required.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak in front of people.
Retail sales and customer service experience: ability to present product, up sell & cross sell.
Interpersonal awareness, relationship management and influencing skills.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office and point-of-sale applications; Wine Direct is a plus. Database management and data entry experience a plus.
Must have analytic ability for reporting.
Available weekends and occasional holidays as required and extended hours in order to complete the job.
Maintains a professional appearance.
Must be a team player and maintain a positive disposition.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Minimum of one to three years related experience;
High School diploma or AA degree, or a combination of education and experience
