De Ponte Cellars, a small family owned and operated winery in the Willamette Valley is currently seeking a permanent employee for our unique hybrid position of a tasting room sales / cellar assistant. The ideal candidate should have an outgoing service oriented personality and be a highly motivated team player with a positive attitude that thrives in a small team environment.

Responsibilities include:
- Provide guests with a knowledgeable and enjoyable experience
- Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history to guests
- Monitor and maintain the appearance of the tasting room and cellar
-Accurately perform tasting room opening and closing procedures
-Consistently and accurately perform daily inventory and money handling procedures
-Provide exceptional customer service and guest education
- Enjoy food and wine and be able to discuss appropriate pairings
- Ability to drive a forklift and become forklift certified.
- Assist in managing the appearance of the entire facility
- This position will be involved in all aspects of cellar operations and maintenance.

Desired Qualifications:

-Winery, wine industry or restaurant experience preferred
-Flexible in working variable hours and days
- Knowledge or ability to learn safe cellar practices
-Knowledge of winery cellar operating procedures
-Dependable, highly organized & detail oriented
-Self-starter; a creative problem solver with a “can do” attitude
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Committed to continual learning
-Candidate must be at least 21 years of age.
-This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift 50 lbs.
