Job Description:

Position Overview
The Doubleback Sales & Hospitality Manager is a hands-on hospitality and sales position responsible for delivering exceptional tastings, building meaningful customer relationships, and driving tasting room sales.
This person will spend the majority of their time directly hosting guests and conducting tastings. While the role carries ownership for the quality and consistency of the Doubleback experience, it is not a team management position.
What You’ll Own
1. Guest Experience
•  Personally host tastings and create a polished, welcoming, and memorable Doubleback experience.
•  Guide guests through the wines with confidence, warmth, and strong brand knowledge.
•  Tailor each tasting to the guest rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all presentation.
•  Anticipate guest needs, solve problems thoughtfully, and provide clear alternatives whenever possible.
•  Maintain a professional and guest-ready tasting environment throughout the day.
2. Sales & Customer Relationships
•  Drive wine sales through thoughtful hospitality, confident recommendations, and meaningful storytelling.
•  Understand daily and monthly sales goals and actively contribute to achieving them.
•  Identify opportunities to grow purchases, allocation participation, and long-term customer loyalty.
•  Capture accurate customer information and complete appropriate follow-up after visits.
•  Participate in customer outreach, appointments, allocation sales, and other sales initiatives.
•  Use customer history and preferences to provide a more personal experience.
3. Tasting Room Execution
•  Support daily opening and closing responsibilities, reservations, setup, cleanup, restocking, and guest flow.
•  Keep wine, merchandise, supplies, and hospitality materials organized and ready for service.
•  Communicate inventory needs, customer requests, and operational issues to the appropriate owner.
•  Take responsibility for assigned tasks and follow through without needing to be chased.
•  Escalate risks or ask for help early when something may affect the guest experience.
•  Support releases, special events, allocation weekends, and other high-impact business periods.

What Success Looks Like
•  Guests consistently receive a personal, polished, and memorable Doubleback tasting.
•  The role actively contributes to achieving tasting room sales and allocation goals.
•  Customer information and follow-up are accurate, timely, and complete.
•  The tasting room remains organized, prepared, and ready to welcome guests.
•  Responsibilities are owned from beginning to end, with clear communication and follow-through.
•  This person is consistently present on the floor, hosting tastings and selling wine.

The Person We’re Looking For
•  A natural host who genuinely enjoys spending the day with guests.
•  A confident salesperson who can make recommendations without making hospitality feel transactional.
•  Comfortable conducting multiple tastings and maintaining energy throughout the day.
•  Knowledgeable and curious about wine, hospitality, and the Doubleback story.
•  Organized, reliable, and able to balance guest needs with daily responsibilities.
•  A clear communicator who brings solutions and closes the loop.
•  Comfortable using reservation, point-of-sale, and customer management systems.
•  Wine, luxury hospitality, or relationship-based sales experience is preferred.

Requirements
•  Must be at least 21 years of age.
•  Washington MAST Permit and Food Worker Card, or the ability to obtain both promptly after hire.
•  Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
•  Ability to remain on your feet and actively host guests for extended periods.
•  Availability to work weekends, select evenings, events, and peak business periods.
Compensation & Benefits
•  $21–$24 per hour, based on experience.
•  Eligible for sales commission under the current compensation plan.
•  Company benefits, paid time off, and employee wine benefits in accordance with eligibility requirements and company policy.
•  10 days paid time off (vacation or sick leave) prorated based on start date
Club and allocation signup commissions paid monthly
Additional Benefits:
•  Health, dental, and vision insurance eligible after 90 days
•  401K with company match after one year of employment
•  Employee Education Travel Program
