Ty Caton Vineyards is looking for a motivated, sales-minded Hospitality Manager to help grow our direct-to-consumer business across our tasting room, private tasting program, outbound sales, events, and local hospitality partnerships.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys both building relationships and driving results. You’ll help oversee the big picture of our hospitality programs while remaining active on the floor—hosting guests, selling wine, developing referral relationships, and identifying new opportunities to bring people through our doors.
What You’ll Do
Hospitality Scheduling & Operations
• Own the master hospitality schedule across our Kenwood Tasting Room, private tastings, outbound sales days, offsite pourings, and special events.
• Make sure each program is appropriately staffed and identify coverage needs before they become problems.
• Work closely with the tasting room and private tasting teams to keep hospitality operations running smoothly.
• Serve as a flexible resource across programs when additional coverage or support is needed.
Guest Experience & Sales
• Spend up to approximately four days per week working directly with guests, including tasting room and private tasting shifts.
• Deliver a welcoming, knowledgeable, and sales-focused guest experience.
• Build lasting customer relationships and identify opportunities to convert guests into wine club members and repeat customers.
• Look for opportunities to introduce tasting room guests to our elevated private tasting experiences.
Traffic Building & Community Outreach
• Develop partnerships with neighboring wineries, hotels, concierges, tour companies, and other Sonoma hospitality businesses.
• Identify creative ways to increase traffic to the tasting room and private experiences.
• Help develop pop-ups, collaborative events, hotel pourings, Costco events, and other offsite opportunities.
• Coordinate with the hospitality team to execute events and promotions successfully.
• Maintain regular communication with referral partners and identify new ways to increase private tasting bookings.
Outbound Phone Program
• Participate in outbound phone program approximately 1–2 days per week as scheduling allows.
• Follow up with past visitors, customers, club prospects, and other targeted customer segments.
• Build relationships through natural, personalized outreach rather than transactional sales calls.
• Help identify opportunities for repeat purchases, special offers, and wine club membership.
Sales & Performance Management
• Track hospitality sales performance across programs.
• Monitor wine club sign-ups, conversions, tasting traffic, private bookings, and other key DTC metrics.
• Set goals with the hospitality team and help keep hospitality staff focused on achieving them.
• Provide regular reporting on results, opportunities, and areas needing improvement.
About the Role
This is not a position where every day looks the same. Some weeks may include hosting in the tasting room, leading a private tasting, visiting a hotel concierge, making customer calls, coordinating an offsite event, and reviewing sales numbers.
The goal of the Hospitality Manager is to create great guest experiences, build strong local relationships, and help more people discover and return to Ty Caton Vineyards.
Schedule: Full-time; weekends and some evenings required based on events and hospitality needs.
Location: Sonoma Valley / Kenwood, California
Compensation: $30-$35 (includes tips and commission)
About Ty Caton Vineyards
Ty Caton Vineyards is a family-owned Sonoma Valley winery specializing in estate-grown wines from our Caton Vineyard in the Moon Mountain District. Cabernet Sauvignon is at the heart of what we do, alongside our flagship Tytanium blend and a portfolio of small-production estate wines.
Our hospitality experiences range from our casual and welcoming Kenwood Tasting Room to private winery and vineyard tastings. We believe great wine should be approachable, personal, and fun—and we’re looking for someone who can help us bring that experience to even more guests.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is an outgoing, high-energy hospitality professional, natural relationship builder, and confident salesperson who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and creating opportunities. You are equally comfortable developing a new hotel partnership, hosting a private tasting, picking up the phone to reconnect with a longtime customer, or stepping onto the tasting room floor and bringing energy to a busy Saturday.
You may be a great fit if you:
• Are naturally outgoing, engaging, and energized by meeting and connecting with people.
• Have experience in wine, hospitality, tourism, luxury retail, or another relationship-driven sales environment.
• Are confident selling and comfortable working toward measurable sales and wine club goals.
• Enjoy networking, making introductions, and building relationships within the local hospitality community.
• Are proactive and naturally looking for ways to generate business rather than waiting for guests to arrive.
• Have strong leadership, organization, and scheduling skills.
• Can balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on hospitality and guest engagement.
• Communicate professionally and enthusiastically with guests, employees, referral partners, and vendors.
• Are comfortable working weekends and adjusting your schedule based on hospitality needs.
• Have strong follow-through and can successfully manage several programs at the same time.
Wine knowledge is important, but energy, hospitality instincts, sales ability, initiative, and relationship-building skills are equally important. We are looking for someone who enjoys being out in the market, on the phone, in the tasting room, and in front of people—and who brings genuine enthusiasm to each of those environments.
