Hospitality Manager – Picayune Cellars
Picayune Cellars is seeking an experienced, energetic Hospitality Manager to lead our downtown Calistoga tasting room, manage our wine club, and develop a team of three hospitality professionals.
Picayune is not a traditional tasting room. We combine an approachable, high-quality wine experience with a curated mercantile featuring jewelry, apparel, art, home décor, gifts, and other unique discoveries. We are looking for an open-minded leader who is equally enthusiastic about presenting wine, converting guests into club members, and selling mercantile products.
This is a hands-on leadership and sales position. The Hospitality Manager will work actively on the floor, lead by example, coach the team, and drive revenue across tastings, wine, wine club memberships, and retail products.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily tasting room and mercantile operations.
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate a team of three.
Establish sales goals and hold the team accountable for results.
Train staff in wine presentation, wine club conversion, upselling, cross-selling, and mercantile sales.
Manage wine club relationships, billing, communications, retention, and releases, with fulfillment handled by operations support.
Plan and execute three to four customer and wine club events annually.
Monitor sales performance, club enrollment, retention, and average transaction value.
Maintain an energetic, welcoming, and memorable guest experience.
Ideal Candidate
Bubbly, engaging, energetic, and naturally welcoming.
Experienced in wine, hospitality, sales, or luxury retail.
A proven salesperson and motivating team leader.
Knowledgeable about wine and able to make it approachable.
Open to a creative tasting room combining wine, retail, lifestyle, and community.
Organized, accountable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working directly with ownership.
Available to work most weekends, holidays, club releases, and special events.
Three to five years of relevant experience and previous management experience are required. Wine club management experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Shopify, Bloom, ShipStation, or similar platforms is a plus.
This is a full-time, five-day-per-week position. Availability Tuesday through Sunday is required, with two scheduled days off.
Compensation includes a $75,000–$90,000 base salary, commissions, performance bonuses, health insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, and employee wine discounts. Expected total annual compensation is $90,000–$105,000 based on performance.
