We are looking for an innovative and strategic DTC Sales Manager! This role involves managing a dynamic sales team, developing creative marketing strategies, and driving revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be passionate about wine, possess strong management skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment focused on exceeding sales goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Supervise and coach team members to ensure that they are properly trained on standards, policies, and procedures.
-Communicate and monitor sales incentive program and ensure the winery meets or exceeds sales and wine club sign-up goals.
-Lead staff meetings and keeps staff up to date on procedures, sales goals, event updates and other pertinent information to aid sales and improve efficiency.
-Ensure that all shipping orders are accurately packed and processed in a timely manner.
-Help execute monthly physical inventory for wine and oversee inventory counts and allocations.
-Ensure that all visitors are greeted immediately when they enter the tasting room and are provided with an experience that creates brand loyalty.
-Generate monthly and annual club member reports.
-Write content for club newsletters.
-Work to develop and implement sales strategies and campaigns to ensure achievement of sales objectives.
-Foster an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiastic employee relations.
-Appraise performance, taking disciplinary action when appropriate; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
-Oversee the completion of monthly/quarterly reports
-Use monthly/quarterly reports to provide direction for winery operations, event planning and winemaking.
-Utilize sales data to identify and promote most effective timelines to market each wine.
-Oversee monthly and annual club member reports, club communication, allocations, and club processing.
-Evaluate opportunities for new club events, marketing opportunities and campaigns.
-Oversee the completion of all forms and submissions for initiatives and allocates wine for competitions.
-Respond to all customer complaints and monitor online customer forums.
-Plan all winery events including, but not limited to set-up, break down, staffing, fulfillment, and other logistical activities.
-Attend all events and actively encourages sales.
-Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must be at least 21 years of age.
-Current Responsible Beverage and Safe Food Handler Certification.
-Successful track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
-Excellent organizational, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
-Strong interpersonal awareness, relationship management and influencing skills.
-Able and available to work weekends, evenings, events, and occasional holidays.
-Able to demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor.
-Possess a high level of branding and operational tasting room expertise.
-Possess and maintain a valid Class C driver’s license, a reliable, insured method of transportation and an insurable driving record.
-Proven ability to set, meet and exceed sales goals in a direct-to-consumer environment.
-Self-directed, motivated, and able to work with little direction or supervision.
-Excellent communication and leadership skills.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Excellent analytical and project management skills.
-Successful experience supervising, coaching, developing, and managing staff.
-Able to create effective sales strategies and budgets.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
-Minimum of three years of successful experience in the same or similar position within the wine industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
-Fluent in the English language (speak, read, write, type) required. Multi-lingual preferred.
-Able to communicate in a professional and effective manner at all times in both oral and written formats.
-Ability to effectively respond to inquiries, comments, or complaints from internal or external customers.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Commerce7, Red Chirp, Constant Contact, and Adobe Creative Suite .
