Seasonal Sales Associate
McCabes Wine & Spirits — Upper East Side, Manhattan

McCabes Wine & Spirits, a well-established, high-volume retailer on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, is seeking a seasonal sales associate to join our team for the upcoming holidays.

We’re looking for candidates with strong wine & spirits knowledge, a hospitality-driven approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. While initially a seasonal position, there is potential for continued employment based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide thoughtful, tailored wine & spirits recommendations across a wide range of styles and price points
- Deliver exceptional service in-store and through phone, email, and online inquiries
- Assist everyday shoppers, collectors, and corporate clients, including holiday gifting and large orders
- Participate in staff tastings and supplier meetings to deepen product knowledge
- Support merchandising, receiving, pricing, stocking, and inventory management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming sales floor
- Accurately process transactions using the POS system
- Work closely with the team and jump in wherever needed during busy periods

Who You Are
- Previous wine & spirits retail, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of wine and/or spirits; WSET, CMS, or equivalent education is a plus
- Confident, personable, and comfortable engaging with a wide range of customers
- Sales-minded and able to quickly understand a customer’s needs and make appropriate recommendations
- Professional, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to stay organized under pressure
- Team-oriented, low ego, and eager to continue learning

Schedule & Physical Requirements
- Flexible availability is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Availability during the peak Thanksgiving through New Year’s period is essential
- Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Full-time or significant part-time hours may be available during peak periods
