WINERY DESCRIPTION: Jonata, The Hilt, and The Paring is an estate-owned grower and producer based in Santa Barbara County, encompassing three unique wine brands, two estate properties, and one team dedicated to farming, winemaking, sales, and marketing. Jonata in Ballard Canyon is a renowned winery known for singular expressions of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and other varietals. The Hilt in Sta. Rita Hills is an estate that champions cold-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Paring is made from select blocks of Jonata, The Hilt, and select vineyards across California, which offers a best-in-class selection of wines at an excellent value.
PRIMARY ROLE: Deliver engaging, personalized tasting experiences and tours of the estate while building brand awareness, consumer loyalty, and lasting guest relationships. Confidently share the stories of our team, vineyards, wines, and brands in a compelling and consistent way while driving wine and membership sales through thoughtful, relationship-focused hospitality.

JOB SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE:

• Represent Jonata, The Hilt, and The Paring with knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:
• Conduct tasting experiences and estate tours, tailoring each visit to the interests and knowledge level of the guest.
• Confidently present our wines, vineyards, estates, and brand stories in an engaging and consistent manner.
• Identify sales opportunities and make thoughtful wine and membership recommendations based on guest interests.
• Maintain relationships with guests and members through attentive service and follow-up.
• Operate the Point of Sale system and maintain accuracy in transactions, orders, and customer information.
• Work collaboratively with the hospitality team to achieve daily and monthly sales goals.
• Maintain polished standards of presentation throughout all guest-facing spaces.
• Prepare hospitality spaces for opening and closing according to established operating procedures.
• Assist with wine service, food preparation for pairings, inventory stocking, glass washing, cleaning, and general upkeep as needed.
• Support winery events, special events, and off-site functions as needed.
• Represent our brands professionally both on and off the estate.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Hospitality Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the hospitality or wine industry.
• Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in POS systems
• Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and have reliable transportation.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• Must have the ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
SCHEDULE/ LOCATION:
• Final work schedule will be based on Tasting Room hours and will include weekends and some evenings.
• Our facilities are located just south of Lompoc. This position requires working on-site.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
• Compensation: Hourly + Benefits
• The base pay for this role is $20-25 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
• Total earning potential may exceed $30 per hour, inclusive of tips and commissions.
• Full-time employees are eligible for health, dental, vision insurance, 401K, and paid vacation after the probation period.
