Mascarin Family Wines is seeking an energetic, hospitality-driven Part-Time Tasting Room & Hospitality Associate to join the team in Healdsburg. About the Role
The Part-Time Tasting Room & Hospitality role is a front-line ambassador for the winery, responsible for creating a welcoming, educational, and sales-minded experience for every guest. This role combines hospitality, wine education, direct-to-consumer sales, wine club growth, and operational support in a peaceful tasting room setting just outside Healdsburg.
This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position. The ideal candidate is someone who takes hospitality seriously, is naturally curious about wine, and wants to deepen their knowledge of viticulture, winemaking, terroir, and guest engagement while contributing to a small, quality-focused team.

About the Wines and Winemaking
Winemaker Matt Taylor is a third-generation Sonoma County native with more than two decades of experience shaped by Sonoma County roots and time spent in France, Argentina, Switzerland, and New Zealand. His approach is innovative and meticulous, with a focus on biodynamic farming, native yeast fermentation, minimal sulfur, no fining or filtering, and wines that balance fruit, acidity, and tension.
The wines are made to express terroir and to evolve gracefully with oxygen once opened, creating a layered and remarkable sensory experience. This role is especially well suited to a candidate who enjoys learning how farming, place, and cellar decisions shape what is in the glass.
Key Responsibilities
• Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm, creating a memorable first and last impression.
• Host engaging seated tastings, private tastings, and occasional tours that reflect the winery’s history, vineyards, wines, and winemaking philosophy.
• Actively convert guests to our wine club memberships by clearly explaining club benefits and building long-term guest relationships that encourage loyalty and repeat visits.
• Educate guests about the wine portfolio, vineyard sources, our specialized farming practices, and the distinctions between 32 Winds and Mascarin Wines.
• Deliver personalized wine recommendations that support direct sales and deepen each guest’s connection to the brand.
• Support monthly sales and wine club goals while maintaining a high standard of hospitality and authenticity.
• Operate POS and direct-to-consumer systems accurately, including purchases, shipping orders, customer profile updates, returns, and discounts.
• Effectively facilitate order packing, shipping coordination, inventory transactions, merchandise stocking, and maintaining accurate supplies for daily service.
• Help prepare for and support winery events, special tastings, and hospitality experiences that showcase the wines and property.
• Maintain the cleanliness, beauty, and readiness of the tasting room, service areas, and guest-facing spaces throughout the day.
• Stay informed on current releases, wine club offerings, winery updates, recent reviews, and relevant wine industry trends.
• Participate in staff trainings and meetings, contributing ideas and maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will bring both hospitality instinct and wine passion. This person should be excited by the opportunity to talk about fine wine in an approachable way, continue learning, and represent a small Sonoma County winery with polish and sincerity, and professionalism.
Preferred qualities and qualifications include:
• At least 21 years of age.
• RBS Certification
• Prior experience in a tasting room, winery, luxury hospitality, specialty retail, restaurant, or other guest-facing environment preferred.
• Genuine passion for wine, wine culture, and guest education.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Sales confidence, with the ability to recommend wines naturally and convert interest into purchases and club memberships.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to build deeper knowledge of terroir, farming, and winemaking.
• Professionalism, reliability, strong organization, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfort using winery software and digital tools; experience with Orderport, TOCK, shipping platforms, or similar systems is a plus.
