Position Summary

The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for the daily execution of all hospitality operations while ensuring every guest receives an exceptional, personalized, and consistent Torrin experience.

This position serves as the primary leader of the hospitality team and oversees tasting room operations, reservations, scheduling, employee management, guest communications, inventory coordination, reporting, and hospitality standards. The Tasting Room Manager works closely with the Director of DTC & Hospitality to ensure operational excellence while supporting broader business objectives.

Core Responsibilities
Team Development & Culture Leadership

•  Build, develop, and maintain a strong, high-performing hospitality team that consistently represents the Torrin brand and Ethos.
•  Establish clear expectations, accountability, and service standards while fostering an environment built on mutual respect, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
•  Create a culture where team members are encouraged to contribute ideas, provide feedback, and participate in the ongoing evolution of the guest experience.
•  Recruit, train, mentor, and develop employees who embody the values, personality, and hospitality philosophy of Torrin.
•  Foster an environment that balances open communication and collaboration with high performance expectations and personal accountability.
•  Ensure all hospitality team members understand and confidently communicate the story, wines, philosophy, and standards that define the Torrin experience.
•  Continuously evaluate team performance, identify opportunities for growth, and provide coaching and development to strengthen both individual and team success.
•  Lead by example in professionalism, hospitality, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.

Hospitality & Guest Experience

•  Oversee daily tasting room operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences.
•  Manage reservation flow, seating assignments, host assignments, and guest logistics.
. Review guest profiles and special requests to personalize experiences.
•  Maintain hospitality standards and ensure consistency across all guest interactions.
•  Respond to guest concerns, reviews, and service recovery situations when needed.
•  Host private tastings and serve as a brand ambassador for Torrin.

Reservation & Experience Management

•  Manage and optimize TOCK reservations, floor plans, pacing, and appointment availability.
•  Coordinate large group requests and special experiences.
•  Review reservation trends and adjust scheduling to maximize guest opportunities while maintaining service standards.
•  Oversee tasting menus, order forms, guest collateral, and hospitality materials.

Team Leadership & Human Resources

•  Conduct hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance reviews.
•  Manage employee scheduling, PTO requests, payroll review, and staffing coverage.
•  Document performance concerns and disciplinary actions when necessary.
•  Maintain employee handbook updates and ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
•  Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and workplace communication.

Operational Management

•  Maintain organization, cleanliness, presentation, and readiness of all hospitality spaces.
•  Ensure opening and closing procedures are consistently executed.
•  Manage hospitality supplies, collateral, inventory needs, and operational resources.
•  Coordinate shipping logistics, pickup orders, and tasting room fulfillment needs.
•  Maintain internal communication systems and ensure staff have access to current information and procedures.

Inventory & Wine Program Support

•  Monitor tasting room inventory levels and wine depletion rates.
•  Coordinate inventory transfers and wine availability between locations.
•  Assist in determining tasting flight adjustments based on inventory and sales trends.
•  Support annual inventory planning for releases and Tasting room.

Reporting & Business Analysis

•  Monitor tasting room performance, visitation trends, club conversions, and sales metrics.
•  Analyze member versus non-member visitation and purchasing behavior.
•  Track revenue performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
•  Prepare reports and recommendations for ownership and the Director of DTC & Hospitality.
•  Review year-over-year trends and staffing needs to improve operational efficiency.

Hospitality Marketing Support

•  Support hospitality-related marketing initiatives and events.
•  Assist with social media content, photography, and guest-facing materials.
•  Help maintain website hospitality information and event listings.
•  Support local collaborations, member events, and winery representation opportunities.

Membership Support

. Assist the Membership Manager with shipping logistics and club release activities.
. Serve as a secondary contact for membership inquiries, ensuring timely and organized communication.

Leadership Expectations

•  Maintain a thorough understanding of Torrin wines, vineyards, history, and philosophy.
•  Serve as the primary day-to-day resource for hospitality staff.
•  Anticipate operational needs and proactively solve problems.
•  Continuously seek opportunities to improve the guest experience, team performance, and overall effectiveness of hospitality operations.

Compensation & Benefits
. Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
