Tasting Room Sales - Tin City

Aaron Wines

Paso Robles, CA

Apply

Job Description:

WHO WE ARE: We've spent over 25 years making powerful, age-worthy wines from the steep hillsides of westside Paso and are pioneers of Pinot Noir on the SLO Coast (we led the creation of the AVA). We are artisans, wine geeks, outdoor enthusiasts, world travelers, music lovers, and storytellers. We take the wines seriously. But we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

WHO YOU ARE: Someone with charisma, personality, and a love of interacting with customers. You’re a natural storyteller who can speak confidently and comfortably, but also know how to nerd out on wine details. You have a real personality that exists off of Instagram. And of course, you're good company and a real team player.

OVERVIEW

Aaron Jackson started the winery in 2002 with a single Petite Sirah and a question: how do we write a new story for Central Coast wine? Twenty five years later the answer is two brands — AARON, our ode to the westside of Paso Robles, and AKANA, from vineyards on the San Luis Obispo Coast within six miles of the Pacific. Our winery facility and tasting room in Tin City is both where we get our hands dirty and where we get to hand that story to people directly.

We believe in people, creativity, hard work, and doing things differently. As we like to say "Boundaries are Few on the Road Less Traveled."

Our Tasting Room staff is one of the most important faces in our winery - the first face when a customer walks in the door, the person who sets the vibe, and the beginning of the journey to falling in love with our brand. We are looking for a part-time employee to join our fun and hardworking team in the Tasting Room. This is a dynamic role, and while primarily focused on customer service, also involves a range of other tasks as would be expected in a small winery team. This role is ideal for someone who loves hospitality but is also excited to contribute to brand visibility, customer engagement, storytelling, and the behind-the-scenes operations that help a small winery thrive. We dish out good vibes and great wines 7 days a week in our tasting room.

We are a small winery with just five of us, and every day we show up, we laugh, and we make something worth putting our name on.

ROLE DETAILS

Show up each day stoked and ready to pour wine and interact with customers in a positive and enthusiastic way, creating memorable experiences for our customers.
Develop an in-depth knowledge and passion for our winemaking, story, vision, and brand.
Know how to be professional, detail-oriented, and serious about the wines we make, whilst still being personable and frankly - not too serious.
Know how to work independently, have a good head on your shoulders, and make good decisions.
Build connections with our customers through tastings, phone, and our company’s text services.
Work with the team on tasting room metrics with a focus on meeting sales goals.
Develop intimate knowledge of POS (Commerce7) and reservation software (Tock).
Additional back of house tasks such as order fulfillment, tasting room maintenance and upkeep, stock and inventory management.
Contribute to on-site and off-site events as needed.
Social media experience is a bonus. We love team members who enjoy helping tell our story by assisting in content creation.
Creative thinkers who enjoy contributing ideas for customer experiences, marketing initiatives, and brand storytelling are encouraged to apply.
As a small winery that thrives on creativity, candidates can expect to contribute to a wide range of activities, and there is opportunity for growth and involvement in more areas of sales & marketing.
Applicant’s availability is 3-4 days a week, including weekends. Potential for full-time work in the near future.
Must be able to lift 40lbs.
